Davangere, Karnataka, Jan 28 (UNI) One of the two arrested by district police in a two-wheeler theft case and later found to be a member of banned SIMI, had underwent training Pakistan to carry out disruptive activities in the country.
The duo, Riyazuddin of Hyderabad and Asadullah of Hospet, who were nabbed by the people on suspicion while they were riding on a two-wheeler stolen in Goa, are being grilled by sleuths belonging to intelligence unit from Bangalore and a police official from Hyderabad for the past three days.
Sources in Intelligence department said that Riyazuddin had revealed his connection with the banned outfit and his travel to Pakistan.
Riyazuddin allegedly was behind the Hyderabad Mecca masjid blasts recently in which 14 people were killed and another 40 were injured.
The town police who visited Hyderabad after the arrest reportedly had acquired a vital information on Riyazuddin undergoing training in Pakistan.
Sources revealed that Riyazuddin was the son of Mohammad Nasruddin, the prime suspect in the killing of former Gujarat home minister Hiren Pandya and was lodged in Tihar jail at present.
Meanwhile Anti Terrorist Cell IGP M K Nagaraj has arrived in the town to join the interrogation team.
The local police were not present When Mr Nagaraj questioned the accused, the sources added.
