TN CM lauds youth for creating awareness on global warming
Chennai, Jan 27 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today felicitated two youths, who were on a world tour with a mission to create awareness on preventing global warming and to protect rain forests, and described them as 'Ambassadors of the State'.
Flagging off the CPI-sponsored tour in the city, he said the youths - Sreenivasa Rao and Gnanasekarana - had undertaken the tour for the seventh time in succession for a noble cause.
''They are the Ambassadors of Tamil Nadu,'' he said.
Their good intention should be lauded as the youngsters were concerned about world peace and had the vision to go on a world tour seeking all nations across the globe to work in unison to safeguard the people from the ill-effects of global warming.
''Though the inaugural of the world tour is being held in a simple manner, the message being carried by the duo will have big impact as it would reach far and wide, making the people ponder over the serious effects of global warming,'' Mr Karunanidhi said.
This initiative had been taken in right spirit for a common cause, the Chief Minister said, and greeted the youths on their goodwill mission and wished them all success in their endeavours.
