Chandigarh, Jan 27 (UNI) Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (Hafed) has floated a warehousing scheme to provide vacant covered space to the farmers, member farmers and traders under commercial warehousing.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Hafed said that this scheme will facilitate the farmers for storage of their wheat, paddy and rice on concessional storage charges. He said that to help the farmers, Hafed has adopted a scheme by charging less storage charges and interest charges on their produce.
Under this scheme, Hafed will charge storage charges at the rate Rs two per quintal per month while interest on loan will be charged at the rate of seven per cent per annum.
Similarly, Hafed will charge storage charges at the rate of Rs 2.50 per quintal per month on paddy and rice stocks received from the private traders under commercial warehousing scheme. He said that interest would be charged at the rate of 10 per cent per annum on loan on monthly rest basis from the private traders.
He informed that Hafed has taken a leap forward towards excellence with the decision to go for International Quality Management Standard (ISO 9001-2000) and Food Safety Warranty (HACCP). It has become the first cooperative organisation of this size to be awarded ISO 9001-2000 certification for all its offices, he spokesman.
