First internat'l docu, short film fest in Guwahati from Jan 30
Guwahati, Jan 27 (UNI) The first-ever International Documentary and Short Film Festival in Guwahati will be held on January 30 and 31, with films from 17 countries to be screened during the two days.
The festival is being organised by Cine Art Society Asom, Don Bosco Soceity, NE India and Sampari Pictures, Tripura, in collaboration with Das Management and Educational Services, Canada, a release informed here today.
Films from 17 countries and about 50 films will be screened in six streams in three screenings every day.
While films from the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Croatia, Greece, Norway, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina, Denmark will be screened under the ''World Short Film'' package, there will be six award winning and acclaimed films from Assam and Manipur in the ''North Eastern Panorama'' section.
The films in the NE Panorama include Mrinal Talukdar's ''Nobody's Man'', Anisha Sarmah's ''Freedom on the Edge'' and Maulinath Senapati's ''Children of the River''.
