Tiruchirapalli, Jan 26 (UNI) The Tiruchirapalli unit of the public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has obtained an order book worth Rs 15,000 crore, an alltime record, according to Executive Director BHEL R N Mishra.
Speaking at the flag hoisting function in the BHEL premises here today, in connection with the 59th Republic Day celebrations, he said the trend of placing orders with BHEL through negotiations were increasing.
With regard to the capacity augmentation scheme, Mr Mishra said BHEL has increased its manufacturing capacity to 10,000 mw in its first phase of expansion. This would be further augmented to 15,000 mw a year in the ongoing second phase of expansion, scheduled to be completed by March next year.
On the production front, he said till December last, 64 per cent of the targets were achieved.
