Steps underway to develop power related infrastructure: Minister
Srinagar, Jan 26 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir minister of State for Power Babu Singh said several steps are underway to develop and improve electricity related infrastructure in the state.
He said, ''Baghliar power project will be completed soon for dedicating it to the people while work on new power house at Ganderbal will be started during April next.'' The minister was chairing a high-level meeting of Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and others concerned, here last evening to review power scenario in the valley.
The Minister was told that electric tariff worth Rs 450 crores was realised from consumers during last year, while fine of rupees one crore was recovered during the drive against power-theft.
Under Prime Minister's package 34 new grid stations are being constructed in the state, of which six have been completed, it was apprised.
