Puducherry, Jan 26 (UNI) The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) will face the elections in 2011 in alliance with other parties sans the DMK and AIADMK, Party founder-leader S Ramadoss said today.
Informing this at a press conference here after the conclusion of the three-day state executive committee meeting, Dr Ramadoss said his party would lead a coalition government as people's faith in PMK was gradually increasing.
As people wanted PMK to lead the government in Tamil Nadu, the party was being geared up to execute the democratic responsibility, he added.
Stating that he would undertake a campaign to eradicate liquor from Kanniyakumari to Chennai for four days from February 26, Dr Ramadoss said he would advocate the ill effects of liquor and appeal to the people to give up the habit of consuming alcohol.
The PMK has formed an apolitical ''Tamil Nadu Uzhavar Periyakkam' movement to take up the cause of farmers, he said, adding that he would visit all districts in Tamil Nadu, to unite the farmers and fight for their cause.
On the issue of Puducherry ministers revolting against Chief Minister N Rangasamy, seeking a change in the leadership, Dr Ramadoss said it was the internal matter of the Congress and AICC President Sonia Gandhi would have to take a decision.
The PMK would continue its support to anyone, appointed by Ms Gandhi, he added.
