Nehwal to clash with Murgunde in women's singles final

Panaji, Jan 26 (UNI) Top-seed Saina Nehwal of Petroleum will clash against her teammate and second-seed Trupti Murgunde in the final of women's singles in the 72nd Senior National Badminton Championship, to be played tomorrow at Indoor Complex Campal, Goa.

Similarly, B Chetan Anand of Petroleum will take on his teammate Arvind Bhat in the men's singles final.

In the women's singles semi-final, Nehwal (PET) beat her teammate Aparna Balan 21-5, 21-14. In another semi-final, Trupti Murgunde (PET) beat her teammate Aditi Mutatkar 21-17, 21-17.

In the men's singles, B Chetan Anand (Petroleum) beat his teammate top seed Anup Sridhar 17-21, 21-17, 21-10. In another match, Arvind Bhat (Pet) beat Anand Pawar (AI) 21-16,21-17.

In the men's doubles semi-finals today, Sanave Thomas (KER) partnering with Rupesh Kumar (PET) beat Alwin Francis and Sankar Gopan (KER) 21-12, 21-17.

In the second semi-finals, Akshay Dewalkar (AI) and V Diju (PET) beat J P Ismail (PET) and Jose George (KTK) 17-21, 21-17 21-16.
