McGrath to hone skills of young Oz bowlers

By Staff
Melbourne, Jan 26: Australia's paramount Test seamer Glenn McGrath is eager to teach bowling nous to the youngsters of the Oz team.

''I've spoken to Cricket Australia and they've said when I'm ready to do something they're keen to have a chat and see what we can work out,'' McGrath was quoted as saying by 'The Australian'. ''I've had good chat with (fast-bowling coach) Troy Cooley about what I could offer the team and we'll see what we can come up with,'' he said.

The 37-year-old right-arm bowler played his last test against England at Sydney, on January 2-5, 2007 where he took six wickets before quitting the international cricket. He then decided to devote more time to the McGrath Foundation for breast cancer research but found it very difficult to walk away from the game.

''My first thing was to have 12 to 18 months out of the game, get it out of the system, spend some time at home and then go from there,'' he added.

McGrath will be seen at the inaugural Indian Premier League Twenty20 series starting April.
