London, Jan 25 : Lord Nazir Ahmed of Rotherham has asked Britain and the US to abandon support to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

"Musharraf does not represent people of Pakistan, he is not a Pakistani and the demonstrations against him are not meant against Pakistan. We are true Pakistanis and love our country", he argued. Lord Ahmed criticised the Pakistan Government, and said Musharraf is availing funds from West and the US in the name of war against terrorism, but spends majority of this amount on armed forces.

Pakistani people are not getting any sort of relief", he added.

Lord Ahmed said that people of Pakistan are deprived of basic amenities, and majority of them are living below the poverty line. They hardly have access to flour and lentils.

"A government that has failed in providing basic facilities to the masses has no right to rule further, it should have resigned without further delay", he demanded.

Expressing his views at the occasion, Barrister Sibghatullah Qadri QC said that Musharraf has violated the constitution and was responsible for breaching the laws.

Jemima Khan, Chairperson of Free Pakistan Group, appealed all Pakistanis and Kashmiris to participate in the protest to be held at 10-Downing Street on Monday.
