Lives of politicians are in danger: Pak Interior Minister
Islamabad, Jan 26 : Pakistan caretaker Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz has said that the lives of politicians in the country were in danger and efforts were being made to provide maximum security to them.
Hamid Nawaz said that the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Governor Ali Jaan Aurakzai was removed from the post because his policy of signing peace pacts with tribal elders had failed.
Due to Aurakzai's flawed policy, the tribal militants had entered settled areas of the province, the Interior Minister told reporters.
The operation in South Waziristan would continue until the area was cleansed of extremists, The News quoted him, as saying.
Hamid Nawaz also said that he believed that militants in Darra Adamkhel would be crushed.
