Governor Sharma hoists Tricolour in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Jan 26 (UNI) Gujarat Governor Naval Kishore Sharma unfurled the National Flag and reviewed the parade at the headquarters of newly-created Tapi district on the occasion of the 59th Republic day, which was celebrated in the state with patriotic fervour.

Students from various schools had organised a cultural programme as part of the celebrations.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi was present at the function.

Tapi district was formed just before the Gujarat assembly elections. It was carved out of tribal areas of Surat district of South Gujarat.

Flag-hoisting ceremonies and cultural programmes were organised all over Gujarat.
