Puducherry, Jan 26: AICC member V Bhalan today urged the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president to form a high-level committee to discuss the prevailing political situation in the Union Territory.
The committee comprising Chief Minister, Ministers, Legislators and PCC office-bearers, besides discussing the political scenario should find ways to sort out things, Mr Bhalan, AICC member from Puducherry, said at a press conference here.
The Congress government was facing a threat from Congressmen and also encountering an extra-ordinary situation. Instead of debating people's issue in the Legislative Assembly, the ministers were indulging in a seniority struggle, he said adding that caste feelings have cropped up more in the Congress party.
Mr Bhalan said Chief Minister N Rangasamy had implemented several schemes for the benefit of the people and brought fame to the Congress government in the Union Territory. However, the PCC had failed to contain the simmering problems between the Chief Minister and Ministers.
This has beneffitted the bureacrats as the administraion was run by them and not by an an elected government, he added.
