Hdyerabad, Jan 26 (UNI) Congress leaders from Telangana today said they postponed a proposed meeting with AICC President Sonia Gandhi on the separate Statehood issue.
Speaking to newsmen here after a meeting of the party leaders from the region at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) Member and MP G Venkataswami's residence, the Congress leader and MLC Amos said ''we have postponed the meeting with Ms Sonia Gandhi.
''We wanted to meet the AICC President on January 28. But due to her health condition, we have postponed the meeting.'' The leaders raised the Telangana issue when State Party In-charge K Veerappa Moily announced the Centre was contemplating constitution of the Second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) for forming smaller states, including Telangana.
The leaders wanted the Congress High Command to take an immediate decision on Telangana.
