Workshop on 'Science and Art Research'
Mumbai, Jan 25 (UNI) A three-day workshop on 'Science and Art of Research and Medical Writing', conducted by P D Hinduja National hospital, got underway in the city today.
Speaking to newspersons here today, the coordinator for the workshop Dr B K Nayak said ''It is very necessary to conduct research in a planned way but what matters is explaining research in a manuscript. If the manuscript fails to emphasis on research method, sampling, statistical analysis or outcome, chances of rejection become much higher.
Currently, many doctors are doing research and it is very important to guide them well so that they don't find it difficult to format the manuscript, he said.
New York University MD Dr Thomas Liesegang will throw some light on the topic. He will cover the ethical areas of concern, meaning and need for informed consent in research, IRB need and functions limiting use of the term ''Safe&Effective.'' Dr Thomas has been practicing at Mayo Clinic for 29 Years after completing his fellowship in external ocular disease and corneal surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief Residency at the Bascom Palmer.
