Tight security arrangememts for Republic Day
Mumbai, Jan 25 (UNI) Security forces have thrown a security blanket over the metropolis ahead of the 59th Republic Day.
Though their is no specific security threat, there will be routine check-ups tonight as well as tomorrow, police sources told UNI.
During the routine check-up police would keep a vigil on public places, Railway stations, Bus stations, while other combining operations as well as Naka Bandi would also be organised.
Meanwhile, in the related development the top police officers today inspected the Shivaji Park ground, Dadar where the Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna will unfurl the National Flag on the occasion.
Several ''Madarsas'' in the metropolis have also geared themselves up to celebrate the Republic Day with a special announcement being made today in several mosques after the weekly Friday prayers directing the community people to actively participate in the Republic Day celebrations.
