Provide milch cattles to women under Pasukranti pathakam: CM

Kadapa, Jan 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials to take necessary steps to provide milch cattles to women under the Pasukranti pathakam for the financial benefit of their families.

The Chief Minister, while participating in various developmental activities in Pulivendula constituency, told the 'Palamithra' women to increase milk production by purchasing milch cattle, under Pasukranti Pathakam of the Government.

Dr Reddy distributed 120 electronic milk testing machines to 120 villages in the constituency.

He directed the district officials to provide loans with low interest rate to purchase milch cattle and increase milk procurement from the present 5,000 litres to 15,000 litres by the year-end in Pulivendula constituency.

He asked the officials to take steps to bring 3,000 milch cattle from other areas to provide atleast 50 cattles in every village. He suggested that the women insure their herds of cattle.

Kadapa District Collector M T Krishna Babu informed the Chief Minister that the district administration had identified 6,000 women and provided loans to 2,500 of them at three per cent interest to purchase cattle.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated additional rooms constructed in the Urdu High school here. On the occasion of his mother's death anniversary, he inaugurated the Y S Jayamma Rajareddy memorial park and unveiled her statue in the park.
