Panaji, Jan 25 (UNI) Petroleum's men and women shuttlers dominated the day, with top seed Anup Sridhar, third seed B Chetan Anand, fourth seed Arvind Bhat and fifth seed Anand Pawar of (AI) sailing into semi finals in the men's singles of the 73rd Senior National Badminton Championship in progress at indoor complex at Campal in Goa.
In the men's quarter finals today, Anup Sridhar (PET) beat R M V Gurusai Dutt (AP) 22-20, 21-16, B Chetan Anand (PET) beat Sachin Ratti (RLY) 21-17, 21-15, Arvind Bhat (PET) bt Sagar Chopda (Mah) 21-14, 21-13. Anand Pawar (AI) beat his teammate P Kashayap 20-22, 21-18, 21-19.
While in the women's singles events, all Petroleum players made it to the semi finals.
In the quarter finals singles, top seed Saina Nehwal (PET) beat Jwala Gutta (PET) 21-10, 21-11, second seed Trupti Murgunde (PET) beat Gayatri Vartak (Mah) 21-16, 21-8, third seed Aditi Mutatkar (PET) beat B R Minakshi (PET) 21-19, 18-21, 21-18, fifth seed Aparna Balan (PET) beat Dhanya Nair (RLY) 13-21, 21-14, 21-11.
