Srinagar, Jan 25 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police today foiled a militant plan to trigger a power Improvised Explosive Device (IED) a day before Republic Day (RD) in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said.
They said during a routine patrolling, a police party noticed a five kg IED near a public school at Drugmullah in north Kashmir.
The area was immediately sealed and the people were evacuated to safer places. Later, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused the IED without causing any damage, they said.
