Hyderabad, Jan 25 (UNI) The Lok Satta Party will launch 'Citizen Centres' to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh tomorrow, its president Jayaprakash Narayana announced today.

Addressing the press here, he said 157 centres in towns and 47 centres in the state capital would start functioning from tomorrow.

More than 1,000 trained volunteers would assist the people who want to know about the services that were being offered by the government in their respective areas.

Stating that the centres would also provide counselling to the unemployed youth to get the right jobs, he said the party was carrying out a survey on unemployment, plaguing the state since Independence and such centres would be set up in all towns in future.

Referring to the delay in the conduct of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections by the government, he demanded that the State Election Commission (SEC) complete ward distribution, reservation process and announce the dates for the elections.

Pointing out that the High Court had issued notices to the government for the delay in election following a petition filed by his party, he demanded that the government allocate Rs ten crore to every ward in GHMC for taking up development programmes.

Quality education, free and comprehensive healthcare, youth empowerment for wealth creation and raising income of traditional occupants like farming and weaving would solve the persisting poverty in the country, the Lok Satta leader opined.
