Washington, Jan 25 : Hollywood superstars came up in support of actor Tom Cruise, as he struggled through the controversies surrounding him.

The 'Mission Impossible' star has been constantly struggling against bad press after a pro-Scientology video featuring him was aired on the Internet and scathing accusations made by celebrity biographer Andrew Morton about his personal life.

Actors Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller spoke out in support of fellow actor.

"To see anyone's private life invaded and mocked like this is sickening. "It's especially gross when it happens to a guy like Cruise, who's a great dad, a great husband and a great friend," Contactmusic quoted Sandler, as saying.

Legendary star Hoffman said that Cruise has every right to express opinions about his religion

"Tom Cruise is an American and has the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion," he said.

Actor Ben Stiller shot down the reports claiming Cruise isn't the biological father of daughter Suri.

"Imagine having a baby and people talking about it the way they did. People lose sight of the fact that Tom Cruise is actually a person. I feel for him," said Stiller.
