Himesh Reshamiya starrer 'Karzzzz' launched

Mumbai, Jan 25 (UNI) T-Series's Himesh Reshamiya starrer ''Karzzzz'', a remake of Subhash Ghai's 1980 blockbuster by the same name was launched here today.

Present at the launch ceremony were Subhash Ghai and Rishi Kapoor among others. The duo shared their fond memories of the film and wished the cast and crew of the remake, 'bigger' success.

The cast present on the occasion were Himesh Reshammiya, Debutante Shweta, Danny Denzongpa, Raj Babbar and director Satish Kaushik, along with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Tanya Kumar and Tulsi Kumar from T-Series.

The new cast and crew performed a ''Puja'' and shared their thoughts on making the remake.

Subhash Ghai considered it a proud moment that when Bhushan Kumar and Himesh approached him for the remake of this film. He said, ''It's a big compliment that they wish to bring the original film back to life.'' On the other hand, Rishi Kapoor who mesmerized his fans in the original film said he enjoyed portraying his reel life character Monty and is looked forward to the new ''Karzzzz''.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, the film is a remake of Subhash Ghai's 1980 film about reincarnation. Filmmaker Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta, who will make her debut in the film will play the lead role of Tina Munim opposite Himesh who will don Rishi Kapoor's role for the same.

Directed by Satish Kaushik, the film also stars Urmila Matondkar, Gulshan Grover, Danny Denzongpa, Rohini Hatangadi and Raj Babbar. Himesh also scores a hat trick by acting, singing and composing the music for the film.

The shooting is scheduled to commence from February 10 and will be shot in South Africa, Kenya and Mumbai.

T-Series has bought the remake rights from Mukta Arts for the original film ' Karz' directed by Subhash Ghai. The original film with the cast, Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Premnath amongst others was a blockbuster of the 80's.
