Mr Phatak also announced that the central government has given more power to the assistant, deputy, joint and the Municipal commissioner's to conduct a random check in the diagnosis centres in the city, whom they suspect of conducting tests to determine the sex of the foetus. ''We welcome the governments decision as we have more power in this matter now,'' Mr Phatak stated.
Before the conference started, corporation officials enacted a street play on the diagnostic centres and demonstrated how the rule to follow the law for diagnostic centres is important for the society.
