BEL Q3 net down 23.76% to Rs 112.97 cr

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) today said its net profit has declined 23.76 per cent to Rs 112.97 crore for the quarter ended December 2007, as compared to Rs 148.18 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company said in a statement that its total income has gone down 19.63 per cent to Rs 726.93 crore for the third quarter of this fiscal from Rs 904.51 crore of the same period a year ago.

It also declared an interim dividend of 60 per cent (Rs six per share), on its paid up capital for the current fiscal year.

BEL, the vertically integrated company with a network of marketing and customer support centres across the country, was set up by the Centre Government under the Defence Ministry in 1954 to meet the specialised electronic needs of the country's defence services.
