15 polling parties in Tripura to send by aircraft
Agartala, Jan 25 (UNI) Altogether 15 polling parties will be sent by helicopter a day before the election to the inaccessible areas--nine in Dhalai, four in North and two in West Tripura districts.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) G S G Ayyanger said here today that the authority will manage aircraft for their safe journey.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) had instructed the state election panel to make adequate arrangement for polling parties' transportation.
However, Mr Ayyanger stated that other 'hyper-sensitive' polling booths would also be provided with sufficient security contingents for the officials.
The state home department has already started deployment of paramilitary forces across the country in the third week of February to ensure tension free election in the state, Dr Ayyanger pointed out.
Dr Ayyanger also underlined that ECI wanted to project Tripura election as a role model before the country and it had already provided hundred per cent Electronic Photo ID card.
Meanwhile, three observers--J N Kansotiya, C Roul and Pankaj Joshi--have arrived here yesterday to oversee the poll preparation.
They would be in the state till February five next and would leave the state after arrival of another group of 60 observers, Dr Ayyanger said adding that two senior officials of the Commission would visit the state on January 28 to hold meeting with the district magistrates to make them aware about the latest instructions and guidelines of ECI.
