Mumbai, Jan 24 (UNI) Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray today praised senior party leader Manohar Joshi for meticulously writing the past and present of the party in his book, 'Shiv Sena Kal, Aaj and Udya' (Shiv Sena yesterday, today and tomorrow).
Speaking after unveiling of the book, Uddhav said ''The past and present of the party has been meticulously written in the book, 'Shiv Sena Kal, Aaj and Udya', by its author Manohar Joshi.'' He expressed hope that the future of the party would be equally good and development oriented with the help of the party cadre.
He said since childhood, he had seen the development of the party and added that he was well aware of the problems that had cropped up and how they were sorted out.
Touching upon the issue of Maharashtrian pride, Uddhav said what Narendra Modi could do in Gujarat on the issue of pride of that state, why can't the Sena do the same here.
He said the Sena-BJP were the parties who always opposed the pampering of the minorities.
Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde, in his speech, said the alliance will remain intact.
His statement carries significance against the backdrop of tension that had prevailed several months before in the alliance as well as the Sena chief Bal Thackeray's statement that let Mr Modi be in Gujarat and Ms Mayawati in Uttar Pradesh, but Maharashtra is for Shiv Sena.
Mr Joshi, in his brief speech, said Uddhav is the symbol of tomorrow's Shiv Sena and described his book as the ''history of not only the party but also biography of Bal Thackeray.'' Veteran Marathi stage actor Prabhakar Panshikar, historian Babasaheb Purandare and literatture Ram Shivalkar also spoke on the occasion.
The book was released yesterday at the hands of Shiv Sena chief and today it was again released by Uddhav.
