Teenager owns up to having 50 sexual partners

London, Jan 24 : An 18-year-old girl, who has had 50 sexual partners in the last two years, has vowed to 'stop sleeping around' after confessing to her mother on a television programme.

Cheryl Tunney admitted that since losing her virginity at 16 she has slept with so many partners she cannot even remember some of their names.

Most of the men were picked up on Internet dating sites, which Cheryl said she and her friends had been hooked on since they were 14.

The teenager's revelations, which came to light while making the BBC programme Sex... With Mum and Dad, shocked her mother Debbie, 45.

However, Cheryl from Dagenham in Essex, has now vowed to stop sleeping around after a session with TV sexologist Maria Schopman.

Cheryl said she has been called a 'slapper' in the street since her number of conquests became public but has sought solace in the arms of a 39-year-old boyfriend.

"It's been quite upsetting really, all these people shouting things out in the street like 'slapper,' The Sun quoted her, as saying.

"My sexual past was then and this is now but these people just won't accept that," she added.

Talking about her new boyfriend, she said: "He has had lots of stick at work and when he's out and about. It's just not called for."

"He will stay with me though - we are very happy together and we are just trying to ignore them," she added.

The BBC3 show aims to bring children and parents together for a frank discussion about sex to 'break down the walls between generations, and raise awareness'.
