Security tightened for oppositions Bihar bandh
Patna, Jan 24 (UNI) The Bihar government has made elaborate security arrangements in view of tomorrows Bihar bandh sponsored by the opposition parties in protest against the recent police firing in Kahalgaon.
Sources at the state headquarter said here today that all district police superintendents had been directed to remain alert during the bandh and had been asked to maintain tight vigil in their jurisdiction.
The sources said additional deployment had been made at all public places including railway stations, bus stands and markets.
Paramilitary forces would remain deployed in the state capital and the patrolling would be intensified from tonight to prevent the agitationists from damaging the public properties.
Sources at the East Central Railways said the government rail police and railway protection force would keep their hawks eyes on the railway tracks and other establishments of the railways.
Arrangements had also been made for smooth running of the trains during the bandh.
Meanwhile, RJD state spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad Khan, state Congress chief spokesperson Prem Chandra Mishra and CPI state secretary Badri Narayan Lal told newspersons jointly here that an appeal had been made from the private school management and the transporters to make the bandh a success.
They said the emergency services, however, had been exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Meanwhile, the private schools of the state capital have announced closure of their institutions tomorrow.
