UP: Security beefed up for Republic Day

Security
has
been
beefed
up
in
all
the
11
districts
falling
under
Gorakhpur
zone
in
eastern
Uttar
Pradesh
to
avert
any
possible
terrorist
strike,
on
Republic
Day.
Gorakhpur zone IG Gyan Singh told UNI here today that security had been tightened at public places, including railway and bus stations and religious spots in the 11 districts comprising the Gorakhpur, Basti and Devi Patan police ranges.
Besides, security along the 391 km long international border with Nepal in Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti and Bahraich districts, had also been put on high alert.
Meanwhile, Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) DIG Pradeep Gupta said sniffer dogs and additional forces had been kept at a standby.
