Rupee opens firm at 39.50/51 per USD

Rupee
today
opened
firm
agianst
US
Dollar
at
39.50/51,
stronger
by
six
paise
from
its
previous
close
of
39.56/57
per
dollar
on
positive
note
in
Indian
equity
market.
The partially convertible Indian currency touched a high of 39.44 per dollar as there was a good inflows in the local equity market in the early session, however, the suspected intervention by Reserve Bank of India would cap rupee's major gain against greenback, dealers said.
Dealers expected rupee to end the session firmly near 39.45 on the speculation of strong inflows in the market.
