Prabhat Khabar lifts Tata Steel Centenary Media Cup

Jamshedpur,Jan 24 (UNI) Hindi Daily Prabhat Khabar today lifted Tata Steel Centenary Media Cup defeating Electronic Media Visual Blue by 21 runs in an absorbing final at the Keenan stadium here today.

Visual Blue decided to field in overcast conditions after winning the toss and restricted Prabhat Khabar 165 for eight in the stipulated 25 overs.

Niranjan Singh, who was adjudged the man of the series, was the top scorer with a well-compiled 45 runs (5x4). Prabhat Kumar of Visual Blue took four wickets.

Despite a fine 81(8x4,2x6)by all rounder Ravi Rao, who was adjudged man of the match,Visual Blue managed to score 144 for eight in 25 overs as other batsmen failed to provide support to him.

Prabhat Khabar retained the cup.

Tata Steel vice president(Corporate)Partha Sengupta gave away the prizes.

The tournament was organised by the Press Club of Jamshedpur with the help of Tata Steel.
