Shimla, Jan 24 (UNI) A high-powered committee of Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan will soon be meeting at Jaipur on February 2 to resolve all pending issues that will pave the way for the rehabilitation of the Pong Dam oustees.
Presiding over a meeting convened to discuss rehabilitation of all Pong Dam oustees with senior Revenue Department officers, state PWD Minister Gulab Singh Thakur said chief ministers and revenue ministers of both the states would be meeting on 2nd February.
He said prior to the ministerial-level meeting, the principal secretaries of both the states would be meeting on February one to prepare the ground for the meeting.
The focus of the meeting would be to sort out the rehabilitation issues of the Pong Dam oustees as per Supreme Court's judgment in 1996, Mr Thakur said.
The minister said the meeting was attended among others by Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner Parminder Mathur, along with revenue joint secretary and other senior officers of the revenue department.
