Shimla, Jan 24 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today promised to improve the town's infrastructure and initiate steps to beautify the town to boost tourism activities in the state.
Addressing a public function here, he said the state government would improve municipal services, drinking water supply, road conditions and bore tunnels for smooth plying of vehicles.
Mr Dhumal said his government would develop more parking lots, complete the Giri Drinking Water Supply Scheme, ultra-modern inter-state bus stand near Tutikandi besides maintaining the cleanliness of the town to boost tourism activities.
Mr Dhumal said his government would implement all the ambitious programmes envisioned for improvement of the civic amenities and other tourism promotional facilities in the town for which detailed project report would be prepared.
Funds would never be a constraint in carrying out the developmental activities speedily and in a time bound manner, he added.
Observing that the state government would be according top priority to exploitation of the identified hydel potential, he said the projects, completed during his last tenure, was fetching the state exchequer an annual income of Rs 1,464 crore.
The state government would be expediting the execution of the ongoing projects so that shortage of electricity during winter season would be solved and income generated to carry developmental activities in the state, he added.
