Arunachal bans entry of poultry products

The
Arunachal
Pradesh
government
has
banned
entry
of
chicken
and
other
poultry
products
into
the
state
following
an
outbreak
of
avian
flu
in
West
Bengal.
Animal Husbandry department secretary T Taloh has directed the concerned departments to seal inter-state and international entry points immediately.
The secretary also directed the Rapid Response Team (RRT) to be activated and deployed for surveillance.
Meanwhile, the cost of chicken in the markets here had drastically come down following the news of bird flu in neighbouring states.
