Striking writers won't picket the Grammys
Washington, Jan 23 : The striking Hollywood writers guild has announced that it will refrain from picketing the forthcoming Grammy Awards.
Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said that he is pleased with WGA's decision of not picketing the ceremony.
"We are pleased with the decision. In light of this, we are gratified that the 50th Annual Grammy Awards will focus solely on the great music, artists and charitable work resulting from our show," People quoted Portnow, as saying.
However, the Writers Guild has not yet granted a waiver that would allow its members to work on the ceremony.
Meanwhile, no picketing might increase the likelihood of more big-name musicians attending the award function and the show will go on.
