Punjab continues to be in grip of cold
Jalandhar, Jan 23 (UNI) Punjab continued to be in the grip of cold wave even as night temperatures showed slight increase.
Adampur remained the coldest place in Punjab, registering the minimum at minus three degrees Celsius, two degrees above yesterday's minus five.
The minimum at Amritsar also recorded slight rise with the Holy City recording a minimum of minus two degrees against yesterday's minus 2.6 degrees.
The Halwara IAF base showed mercury at two degree Celcius against yesterday's minus 0.4 degrees.
The temperatures also recorded slight increase in the Malwa belt, where Bathinda recorded 1.6 against yesterday's 0.2 degrees, while the border town of Pathankot recorded a minimum at 0.6 degrees.
The met office at Adampur has predicted a clear sky and morning frost during the rest of the day.
However, chilly winds would continue to sweep the region despite the sun shining bright at many places.
