Parliamentarians pay tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today paid floral tributes at the portrait of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at a function held in the Central Hall of Parliament House here to mark the 111th Birth Anniversary of Netaji.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and several Members of Parliament also paid tribute to Netaji.
Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary, and Dr V K Agnihotri, Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha, were among who paid floral tributes at the portrait.
On the occasion, artistes from the Song and Drama Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting presented patriotic songs.
One of the pre-recorded speeches of Netaji was also played at the function.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat brought out a booklet covering the profile of Netaji, in Hindi and English, which was presented to the dignitaries.
Netaji's portrait was unveiled in the Central Hall of Parliament House by the then President, Dr N Sanjiva Reddy, on January 23, 1978, in recognition of his outstanding services to the nation.
