Jammu, Jan 23 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed an ''under protest'' proceedings in the House with Opposition National Conference (NC) MLAs continuously agitating against ''government's inaction'' on Kundal Committee's report.
The House was adjourned for over an hour following the NC members started protesting against the government demanding action against the ''tainted'' ministers at the start of proceedings.
Even after the proceedings started again at 1130 hrs, there was no smooth functioning in the House.
Speaker Tara Chand informed the Opposition about Chief Minister's ''important'' engagements and his assurance of holding discussion on the Kundal Committee report in the House tomorrow, but the NC members remained adamant.
The Speaker, however, continued with the proceedings amidst uproar by the NC MLAs, all of whom came to the front row and started raising anti-government slogans.
The MLAs of the coalition partners tried to project the works done by the government during its tenure in comparison to the previous regime but there were almost no listeners on the other side.
While the NC MLAs were vociferously accusing the coalition government for promoting corruption in the state, the associate members behind the treasury benches also shouted back using the maxims of the Opposition members.
''We want action, sack the minister,'' was the main demand of the opposition.
Meanwhile, the leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party's (JKNPP) legislators, Mr Harsh Dev Singh came to the well of the House accusing both the Government and the NC of playing politics against the people of Jammu region.
He sat in the Assembly along with Jammu State Morcha MLA Ashwani Sharma, calling for dissolving the Assembly and imposition of the Governor rule in the state. Later, the duo also staged walkout.
