Militant, 2 jawans killed, 40 kg RDX recovered in Rajouri, J
Jammu, Jan 23 (UNI) At least one militant and two army jawans were killed in an encounter while a huge quantity of explosives, including 40 kg RDX and two IEDs, was recovered in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir today, official sources said.
Two soldiers of Rajputana Rifles were killed and four others wounded in an encounter on Kalidhar hills in Sunderbani area of the district, sources told UNI.
Meanwhile, one militant was also gunned down by the troops during the operation, they said asserting that his aide reportedly managed to escape.
Earlier, acting on a tip-off, 48 Rashtriya Rifles recovered a large quantity of explosives, including 40 kg of RDX, 16 detonators, two IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) and eight RPGs, from Dhankot in Dhral area of Rajouri, Defence spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami said.
The explosives were concealed in a polythene bag, he said.
