Lt Gen KR Rao will be new DG of Manpower Planning
Hyderabad, Jan 23 (UNI) Lt Gen Kammula Ramachandra Rao, VSM, has elevated as the Director General to head the Manpower Planning, Personnel Services dealing with all Terms and Conditions of Services including Pay, Allowances and Pensions and Recruitment of Officers and other ranks at the Indian Army Headquarters.
He has been very closely associated with the Pay Recommendations to the VI Central Pay Commission by the armed forces, according to a press release.
After successful training at the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA), he was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery as Second Lieutenant in December 1970. He took part in the 1971 Indo-Pak war and was part of the forces responsible for successful capture of important posts in Kargil Sector.
Lt Gen Rao has served in a large number of border areas, took part in various operations, including a stint in Sri Lanka. In recognition of his services, he was awarded the Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) by the President of India.
