Kerala makes marriage registration compulsory
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 23 (UNI) The Kerala Government today decided to implement the Supreme Court order, making registration of marriages compulsory for all in the State.
Talking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said documents required for registering weddings, issued by religious bodies, would also be made acceptable.
Mr Achuthanandan two days ago, had called on various Muslim organisations representatives and had discussed with them the misgivings about the implementation of the Apex Court order.
