Karnataka lifts 7th All India BSNL Football title
Bangalore, Jan 23 (UNI) Hosts Karnataka lifted the 7th All India BSNL Football Title defeating defending champions West Bengal 2-0 in the finals played here today.
Karnataka, which dominated right from the beginning never allowed the defending champions West Bengal to settle and thus avenged the defeat it suffered last year in the finals.
Star Striker for the hosts Kadirvan opened the account in the 28th minute and defender Md Nazim Bepari increased the lead in the 48th minute.
In the other match to decide for the third place Punjab defeated Kerala in the match which was decided in the tiebreaker 2-0 with Trilok Singh and Sunil Yadav netting the ball.
Former Olympians Ahmed Khan, Varadaraj and National player of International fame Armainayagam were felicitated at the prize distribution ceremony.
