New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) Team India staked its claim to the Ceat International Cricket Team of the Year 2007-2008 while former captain Saurav Ganguly moved up to the second spot for the International Cricketer of the Year after his spirited performances Down Under.
India leads the table with 80 points while South Africa (61) and South Asian rivals Sri Lanka are second and third respectively.
Surprisingly, world champions Australia (44) occupy the fourth spot.
Ganguly is at second place on the player rankings, behind Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene who is at the top position.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar at number four was the other Indian in the top five.
Among the bowlers, Test captain Anil Kumble was at the fifth spot while injured pace spearhead Zaheer Khan was at the fourth spot.
