Home Minister meets girls from border areas
New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil today exhorted village girls from border areas of Baharaich and Darjeeling/ Kishanganj to work for the development and welfare of the people and the country.
Mr Patil said this to girls, who were on an educational excursion tour currently, when they met him at his residence this morning. The two teams of 20 girls each, reached Delhi after visiting Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Agra.
The educational excursion tour is being organized by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) with an objective of familiarising the youth with the cultural and historical heritage of the country and its economic progress.
This is a part of SSB's motivational, developmental and community welfare activities for the upliftment of the border population.
Ssahastra Seema Bal has been mandated with the task of guarding the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan Borders.
