Deshmukh leaves for World Economic Forum Meeting
Mumbai, Jan 23 (UNI) Maharashtra has remained in the forefront in attracting foreign investments and the Davos-Switzerland tour will help bring more investments into the state, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said here tonight.
The Chief Minister was speaking to mediapersons before his departure for Zurich from Mumbai for the World Economic Forum meeting. From Zurich, he will proceed to Davos.
Mr Deshmukh is accompanied by Chief Secretary Johny Joseph, Principal Secretary - Industries, V K Jairath and Chief Executive Officer - MIDC, Rajeev Jalota.
During his four-day visit to Davos, Mr Deshmukh will have discussions with entrepreneurs and Chief Executive Officers of different countries on the opportunities available for investments in Maharashtra. He will also present his views on true value of water, urban infrastructure facilities and urban re-development.
Minister for Agriculture Balasaheb Thorat, Minister for Marketing Harshvardhan Patil, MLAs Ulhas Pawar, Balasaheb Shivarkar, Naseem Khan, Principal Secretary - Protocol, B P Pandey, senior officials and party workers in large numbers were present at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
