Athlete's bid to get into Guinness book of records
Kottayam, Jan 23 (UNI) Kerala athlete P V Shaji has embarked on a feat of running backwards over a distance of 50 km from Kottayam to Alappuzha via Changanacherry, in a bid to etch his name for posterity in the Guinness Book of world records.
Thirty-eight-year-old Shaji, who had won several prizes in school and at Panchayat level meets, had already covered 14 km on October 18 and another 34 km on December 9 last he announced at a joint press conference with Panchayat President Joshy Philip here today.
He would complete the remaining distance in the final leg which would be flagged off on January 26 by legislator V N Vasavan.
