New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) With addition of 8.11 million telephone connections during December 2007, the country's total telephone subscriber base touched 272.88 million by end of the month.
The overall teledensity stood at 23.89 per cent at the end of the month as against 23.21 per cent in November.
The total customers added during November 2007 stood at 8.22 million, taking the total users to 264.77 million.
In the wirless segment including GSM, CDMA, and WLL(F) , 8.17 million subsriber were added that increased the total number of users in this sector to 233.63 million. In November, 8.32 users were added in this segment.
However in wireline segment, subscriber base decreased to 39.25 million in December 2007 as against 39.31 million customers in November.
The total broadband subscribers during the period stood at 3.13 million as against 2.87 million in the previous month.
