Take steps to check land, house grabbing in UT: PMC leader

Puducherry, Jan 22 (UNI) Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) leader K Lakshminarayanan, MLA, today urged the administration to take immediate steps to check the land and house grabbing in the Union Territory.

Addressing a press conference, he said along with spate of murder and robberies, the land and house grabbing was also increasing here.

He alleged that with the support of the people having power in the government forged documents were being prepared to grab lands and houses, and cited the incident in which one Parvathiyammal of 126 Kamatchiamman Koil Street being driven out of her house in such a manner.

Mr Lakshminarayanan said if the government failed to initiate effective steps to curb the menace, the party would organise agitations.
