Samajawadi Party to oppose acquisition of farm lands
Mangalore, Jan 22 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and president of the state unit of the Sajajawadi Party (SP) S Bangarappa has strongly opposed the forceful acquisition of lands from farmers for the praposed Mangalore Special Economic Zone.
Addressing a press conference here today Mr Bangarappa has warned that acquisition of fertile farm land would lead to shortage of food grain and which will have an adverse affect on food security.
Stating that his party would contest all the 224 assembly seats in the coming elections and will hav no any poll pact with other political parties.
Announcing that a state level backward classes community convention would be organised by SP next month in Chitradurga and discuss the problems and issues faced by OBC's and try to find a solutions.
Mr Bangarappa also reiterated that if his party comes to power farmers will be provided free power supply for their Irrigation Pumpsets.
