Reddy, David crash out of ITF juniors

Kolkata, Jan 22 (UNI) Top seed B Vikram Reddy of India was ousted by New Zealand's Ben Maclachlan in three sets 3-6,6-4,6-7(0-7) while second seeded Indonesian David Agung Susanto lost to Vinay Kamineni 5-7,6-7(3-7) in the ONGC ITF Junior Tennis 2008 at the DKS complex here today.

Ben took 131 minutes to defeat the top seeded Vikram. In the first set, Ben was broken in the first game. Thereafter, he went on to break Vikram in the fourth and eighth games to take the set at 6-3 in thirty minutes. Ben served three aces while Vikram served three aces and two double faults. The second set lasted 42 minutes and Vikram broke Ben in the fifth game while getting broken in the sixth and tenth to lost the set at 4-6.

In the second set Vikram served one ace and six double faults including three in the fifth game. Ben sent down three double faults. Serves were traded once in the deciding set in the ninth and tenth games. The set went into tie break which was won very easily 7-0 by Ben. Ben served one ace, Vikram four aces.

In the second upset of the day, second seeded Susanto of Indonesia was ousted by Vinay Kamineni of India. In the first game Vinay broke Susanto despite being down 0-40. In the fifth game Susanto 0-40 down managed to save his serve.

Vinay was boken in the eighth game and was 3-5 down. From this point he took the next four games breaking Susanto in the ninth and eleventh games to take the set at 7-5. The second set was also keenly fought. Vinay again broke Susanto in the first game and then got broken in the sixth. The set then went with serves till the tie break. In the tie break Vinay won 7-3.
